vision

the act or result of seeing

In its simplest form, the capacity of an organism to detect light. Taking a broader approach, vision is the sense that permits the discrimination of patterns, shape, color, movement and depth.

The installation is located in a passageway, where the visitor, caught by surprise, finds himself totally immersed in it. The passageway is divided into two corridors by a large glass pane, the side walls are of a mirror the same size as the glass in the center; the visitor selects which side is to be used, and this choice is registered by a people-counter located at each of the access points.

The interactor, upon entering this space, is captured by a presence sensor which, in turn, activates a light located on the side, transforming this glass into a transparent mirror; that is; you see your image at the same time that you see through it. What happens: the interactor may be alone in this experience, and thus see himself reflected infinitely in a play of mirrors; but if there is one or more people on either side of the glass, this multitude of images creates illusion, displacement. Being next to what is not next to you, but, rather in front, and the multiplying and jumbling of these virtual and real images in an infinite labyrinth.
